29 Years in the Making

We have been friends for 29 years. We have always dreamed and grew together, and the dream of A Single Ember has been brewing for about 17 years now. Through careers, families, and even living across states from each other we have never stopped talking about this. From our friendship at a young age when Rachel approached a crying Lizzie in a corner of a kindergarten room, we have always wanted to find a place in a world that is a place for everyone and to make the world a better place, even in a small way.

We really started the fine detailing of being in a better place to start it in 2020, right before the pandemic. While the pandemic might have put it on the back burner once again, it also showed us how impactful a place like this could be and how a sense of community is needed for many more than ever. Families balancing more than they should have to, people working from home, a country that can feel more divided everyday, we no longer could wait to launch A Single Ember. A place to bring people together, help our community directly, and give people a sense of purpose in a safe and welcoming place for all. This type of place is something we have always wanted for our families, and we are so excited to create it and give it to others as well.

We cherish our friendship, and know that it is a building block of this dream becoming a reality. We look forward to creating many new friendships within the success of A Single Ember!
